6 Ups & 3 Downs From WWE SmackDown (29 May - Results & Review)

6. More Chelsea Green Goodness, Please!
Let the positivity flow free.
Chelsea Green worked as a delusional/cowardly heel, and she’s clicking as a ditzy, sympathetic underdog with good intentions. Her odd couple plot with Tiffany Stratton should work well, and it’s nice to have a women’s tag feud that isn’t necessarily over the belts. That gives Nia Jax and Lash Legend something to do every other week too.
Stratton helping Green beat Nia Jax is a good sign. Tiffy still won't commit to embracing Green and giving her a big ol' hug, but she did flash a smile at her would-be tag partner over in Barca. That's progress, right? Chelsea will run with it in backstage promos in coming weeks, that's for sure. As always, she'll make the most of very little. Few turn meagre scraps into buffets like our Chels.
Her facial expressions as she gamely took the fight to Nia were priceless. Credit has to go to Jax for taking her time and really laying it in on Green as well. That menacing heel work helped the match power along before Stratton ran in to clock her with the Women's United States Title. Job done for Nia. Literally.
Some of Triple H's stories take a bit too long to get going, but everything looks rosy on that front for Stratton and Green. WWE's scripts have been feeding juuuuuust enough to maintain interest, and the strength of Chelsea's character work will always compensate when needed. Fingers crossed that this will be the start of something special to rocket her higher up the card in the end.
Few deserve it more than she does.
