6 Ups & 4 Downs From WWE Raw (15 Jun - Results & Review)
Bloodline 2.0 dominates Raw, Oba obliterates Dominik, Iyo triumphs over Raquel, The Vision bores.
WWE is a long way from fully addressing the lackluster, dull, and uninteresting booking that has plagued it in the aftermath of an underwhelming WrestleMania 42, but they’ve made some course corrections recently that have produced some results.
Monday Night Raw this week offered some great examples of how both of these directions coexist – sometimes within the same segment.
The Bloodline 2.0 is an interesting case study, as they are finding their way into the story of Roman Reigns gaslighting Jacob Fatu while the Usos slowly slide back into a familiar subservient role – all while insisting to everyone that things are different this time. Unfortunately, Reigns is still doing things to elicit cheers, rendering a good chunk of heel actions moot to the live audience. This also has the potential to neuter any babyface challengers.
Oba Femi and Iyo Sky advanced in the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments, respectively, delivering wildly different – but both incredibly fun – matches Monday night. Both of them would be fantastic winners, and their potential finals opponents would produce intriguing matchups.
Chad Gable had another good week, though the one concern is whether he ends up mired in WWE’s midcard rather than being elevated while the opportunity is present.
And then there’s The Vision, which was kryptonite for this program.
Let’s get to it…
