5. More Impromptu Goodness
Another Raw, another episode where half of the in-ring action was booked on the fly by the wrestlers themselves.
This week, two matches were added mid-show due to wrestlers arguing with each other. This time, however, they booked the matches themselves, rendering Raw GM Adam Pearce useless. Royce Keys and Jacob Fatu argued backstage in the locker room, Fatu threw out the challenge, and that was that.
Later, Chad Gable and Penta were having an in-ring love-fest, only for the Judgment Day to come down to verbally spar with them. This led to a challenge being issued, and wouldn’t you know it, a referee sprinted down to the ring to start the match.
In both cases, these matches are going to get some positive marks, but that doesn’t change that WWE continues to rely on this trope to book half of its show, making the product look more disorganized and incomplete by the week.
Just stop doing this. Make it something that happens rarely and no one would flinch.
