6 Ups And 7 Downs From Last Night's WWE Raw (June 12)
2. Parlor Tricks
Bray Wyatt is an intriguing character. He gives fantastic, vivid promos that when considered in isolation should be memorable and highlights. However, he also has done this for a couple years now, and they’ve rarely been backed up.
So in context, Wyatt’s promos, and his games of appearing and disappearing, have become a lot of noise with little substance. Even when he gives a good promo and plays mind games with Seth Rollins, you can’t help but feel like it’s going to be the same thing: Wyatt eventually will lose the feud, but he’ll brush it off and move on to torment another wrestler.
It would be nice to be proven wrong and have Bray not only win the feud, but for WWE to figure out a way to advance the character and back up his claims so we could give some credence to Wyatt. Until then, his disappearing and spooky promos might play to a live crowd, but they’re just parlor tricks.
