This is the big one, because no matter how much WWE may want you to love a particular wrestler, it just can't be forced. As soon as The Undertaker lost his winning streak at WrestleMania, one of the big questions was who would dethrone Lesnar and benefit from that monumental night. It was Roman Reigns who was rumored for that role, and it seemed like WWE was going to put him on the fast track to superstardom. The problem is the fans werent going along for the ride. Reigns does get a pretty good crowd reaction compared to the rest of the roster, but its nothing like Steve Austin, The Rock or John Cena were receiving before they were the chosen ones. While McMahon says he listens to the fans, that a dubious claim. He seems to handpick who he wants on top and forces them on the fans until they start to accept them. He tried this with Ryback a couple of years ago, and his push was met with a healthy amount of backlash. He tried again with Batista last year while the fans were demanding Daniel Bryan. If the audience starts to believe that Reigns is the chosen one without actually having to earn their love first they will rebel. The future is overall bright for him, but WWE cant make us to accept him as a top guy, which is why he may not be welcomed as Cena's successor like McMahon is hoping for.
