8 Things You Didn't Know About Apollo Crews

8. Ultimate Warrior Vs. The Undertaker Was The First Wrestling Match He Saw

When asked about what turned him on to professional wrestling in the first place, Crews has generally always referred to a memory with his dad when he was just three or four years old. His father was a wrestling fan and little Apollo ended up watching with big Apollo. The first match he remembers seeing saw The Undertaker take on The Ultimate Warrior, which isn't too bad a way to start. Apollo says that he remembers being in awe of the larger than life aura conveyed by the performers, and from then on professional wrestlers became his superheroes. For my generation in particular this is such a strange thing to hear, as this is exactly how we would have gotten into the game. I don't remember exactly what my first match was, but I'm sure Dino Bravo was involved. Empathy is everything and such insights into pro wrestlers can only lead to further support from the fans.
