7. Little Naitch Rides Again
Longtime wrestling fans might remember back to 1999 in WCW when Charles Robinson became the personal referee for the Four Horsemen and his idol Ric Flair, even donning a robe like the Nature Boy and wrestling a match.
But even if you didnt know that piece of history, WWE made sure younger fans were educated on those facts Monday night, because Robinson was the referee in the Womens Championship match between Charlotte (Flair) and Natalya, which ended in a Montreal Screwjob sendup when Charlotte slapped the Sharpshooter on Nattie. Robinson called for the bell, even though Natalya never tapped out.
As horrible and stupid as rehashing a 19-year-old angle (once again) was, at the very least, it gave us the Flairs personal referee once again. And with a longtime connection between Robinson and Flair (Charles even reffed Rics last WWE match at WrestleMania XXIV), its a rare instance of history and continuity. Fun stuff for longtime fans.
