AEW star Britt Baker has that said while WWE has expressed an interest in signing her away from Tony Khan's promotion in the past, she wouldn't trust any offer the market leaders sent her way.

Speaking with Kenny McIntosh for Inside The Ropes Magazine #16, the reigning AEW Women's World Champion confirmed that WWE had once shown signs of wanting to sign her. For her, however, trust is key:-

I mean, exactly, I can’t disagree with you. They definitely expressed interest—unfortunately, I’ve got to pick and choose how I say this—but I just feel like you can’t trust anything with that company, whereas at AEW I’ve never been promised anything that didn’t follow through.

It seems this is a critical factor when it comes to Baker and her career:-

So it’s something that, unfortunately, it’s sad that it comes down to that, that it makes a company not really desirable because you can’t trust anything they say. And I know business is business, and I understand totally that’s what it is, but as a wrestler, business is business as well.

In contrast, Britt has nothing but praise for how she has been treated in AEW thus far. She claimed that she loves going to work for the promotion, adding that if you are fortunate enough to find yourself in a job that never feels like work, you can't give it up:-

Everything AEW had done for me, with the growth I’ve had here, most importantly how much fun I have here, I truly love going to work every week; I never dread it and that is something that is invaluable, you can’t ever give that up and if you find something where not a day in your life feels like work then you absolutely can’t give that up. That’s where I’m at right now. I’m too thankful to AEW and Tony Khan and everybody who has trusted in me, because without them I wouldn’t be where I am right now.

WWE's interest in Baker was last reported in September 2021, when Adam Cole told Renee Paquette of it during an appearance on Oral Sessions. This came just a few weeks after Britt had signed a multi-year contract extension with AEW.

Shown on camera expressing concern for boyfriend Adam Cole at NXT TakeOver: WarGames 2019 despite being told beforehand there was no chance of this happening, perhaps Baker's lack of trust in WWE is warranted.
