Backstage Update On Will Ospreay's AEW Injury Recovery (AEW News)
Alex Windsor provides an update on Will Ospreay.
With AEW's Will Ospreay currently out of action as he continues his recovery from neck surgery, there's now somewhat of an update on the Aerial Assassin's status.
Speaking to The Metro ahead of tonight's three-hour Holiday Bash block of AEW Dynamite and Collision - which takes place from Manchester, England's Co-op Live Arena - Alex Windsor, Ospreay's fiancée, believes Will will be better than ever when he returns to the ring.
Describing Ospreay as "smashing" his recovery, Windsor said (via f4wonline):
"Of course, it has been a struggle for him, but he's doing well. It's no surprise, you know, but he's absolutely smashing it. I personally [think] he'll be back better than ever. I have no doubt about it in my mind."
The Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer recently said that Will Ospreay is still a long way from returning to action, though the former AEW International Champion is hopeful that he'll be able to start working out with light weights in January.
Ospreay was last in action at Forbidden Door, where he was in the main event Lights Out Steel Cage bout. And while the Englishman's team was victorious over the Death Riders and Gabe Kidd, the post-match saw the heels deliver a brutal beatdown to Will, writing the 32-year-old off TV indefinitely. Prior to that, Ospreay had publicly stated how he hadn't been cleared for that Forbidden Door match, and that he'd be needing neck surgery imminently.
As for Alex Windsor, she was most recently in action for AEW last month in the tournament to crown the company's inaugural Women's Tag Team Champions, where she teamed with Riho in a first-round loss to 'Timeless' Toni Storm and Mina Shirakawa.
