The New Day man shared an update via Twitter earlier today, stating that his C1 "isn't healing optimally." E will now spend the next 4-6 weeks wearing a neck brace in the hope that he will be able to avoid fusion surgery:-

Big E was hurt during a match pitting himself and Kofi Kingston against Sheamus and Ridge Holland on the aforementioned SmackDown show. Taking a rough bump from a belly-to-belly suplex outside the ring, landing on his head, E was stretchered out of the building and taken to a hospital.

It was later revealed that the former WWE Champion had fractured both his C1 and C6 vertebrae. The 36-year-old has since been forthcoming in providing his fans with updates, including a video showing him back on his feet less than a week after the accident, though the severity of his injuries has never been underplayed.

Everybody at WhatCulture continues to wish Big E all the best in his recovery process.
