Full List Of Last-Minute Changes To WWE WrestleMania 39 & Raw
Vince McMahon's WWE return means the return of swooping Raw and WrestleMania 39 changes.
That Vince McMahon has returned to creative power in WWE, bringing swooping last-minute changes to the product with him, hasn't exactly been kept a secret over the past few days, though Fightful Select has now published a comprehensive list of alterations made to recent WWE events.
WrestleMania 39 and this week's Raw are the two shows covered. McMahon, who has seemingly re-assumed WWE's lead creative role following Endeavor's buyout, was behind the scenes for both, playing a particularly big hand in reconfiguring Raw.
All in all, 'Mania and Raw saw the following changes, though there's no word on which ones, specifically, Vince was involved in:-
WrestleMania 39
- A segment featuring LA Knight and Bobby Lashley was canned. Fightful confirmed WRKD Wrestling's previous report on this, leaving Lashley to parade the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal trophy as his sole WM involvement.
- WWE brought Shotzi's tank to SoFi Stadium for her WM39 ring entrance. It was originally planned to be used, but wasn't on the night.
Raw
- A Cody Rhodes segment showing 'The American Nightmare' talking on the telephone was pulled.
- Bad Bunny was likely going to be involved in an angle with the lWo.
- Internally, Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens vs. Street Profits was listed as an Undisputed Tag Team Title match, though this wasn't reflected on television.
- Candice LeRae and Piper Niven had matches cut an hour before the show.
- Originally, WWE was going to run two Triple Threat matches as part of a mini-tournament to determine the next Raw Women's Title contender. These were ditched late. Instead, a Women's Tag Team Title contendership bout was added.
- Omos vs. Elias was a last-minute addition, coming so late that Omos had to scramble to find his gear, having not planned on wrestling that night.
It was reported yesterday that Vince McMahon once again has the final say on all things WWE creative, with Chief Content Officer Paul 'Triple H' Levesque effectively relegated to "busy work."
