Get Ready For A Massive Sheamus Dream Match (WWE News)
Could we get Sheamus vs. Tomohiro Ishii?
With the shocking news of Sheamus' WWE exit last week, that has opened up the door for a whole host of opportunities for the Celtic Warrior, and maybe, just maybe, there's a chance of one particular dream match happening.
For fans of heavy-hitting baddasses, the prospect of Sheamus vs. Tomohiro Ishii is a mouth-watering one, and Sean Ross Sapp was asked about that particular topic during the latest SRS Q&A over at Fightful Select.
Of course, this is far from an outright confirmation that we'll be getting this match, but Sapp is of the belief that Sheamus and Ishii will indeed lock horns at some point, pointing out the fascinating size difference between the two and the story that they could tell. On that front, Sheamus is billed at 6'4" and 260 lbs, whereas the Stone Pitbull is billed at 5'7" and 220 lbs.
SRS was also asked about whether Sheamus, on an international level, would be more over in Japan or Mexico, to which he thinks Japan is the better fit. While Sheamus could be a great base for the smaller, high-flying luchadores of a CMLL to work off, the more snug style of Japan would be an ideal place for the former WWE Champion to ply his trade. That said, there is a little bit of uncertainty of what the pay is like in Japan these days.
For Sheamus, his time with WWE has come to an end after 19 years, with the 48-year-old turning down the offer of a restructured contract, similar to the New Day rejecting a pay cut offer from WWE earlier this year. Since then, while it's expected that the powerhouse Irishman won't be short of suitors, reports have suggested that some in AEW are pushing back against the idea of signing Sheamus, despite many having nothing but praise for the veteran.
