Grayson Waller Goes OFF In NXT Return (WWE News)
Grayson Waller goes off on NXT's soft, lazy, and complacent men's division.
Technically a member of the WWE Raw roster, Grayson Waller made an explosive return to NXT last night.
The charismatic Australian opened NXT by cutting a fired-up worked-shoot promo, lambasting the brand's men's division, calling them soft, lazy, complacent, happy to be there, and throwing shade at certain wrestlers who spend most of their time filming TikTok videos backstage. Waller also took a dig at those wrestlers who are happy to simply add WWE Superstar to their Instagram bio, and then praised independent wrestlers who can amaze in the ring, then mocked them for being charisma vacuums when it comes to cutting a promo.
However, Grayson did have plenty of praise for the NXT women's division, saying that everyone in NXT moans about being ready to be called up to the main roster, but only 10% of the roster is ready for that call-up, and that 10% is all women. Given the passion and worked-shoot nature of this, the NXT fans at one point started to get behind Waller, only to be told to shut up by the former WWE Tag Team Champion.

It's been a strange few years for Grayson Waller. Very solid between the ropes and often excellent with a microphone in his hands, his WWE career has stagnated somewhat lately; firstly, following the break-up of his tag team with Austin Theory; secondly, after his partnership with the New Day ended after Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods decided to exit the company rather than take a pay cut.
In terms of main WWE programming, Waller has only wrestled three times in 2026 - all losses - with the most recent being a Raw defeat to Oba Femi back in April. He has worked various live events and WWE Main Event tapings, though - last being in action on the July 9th edition of Main Event, where he took the L against Je'Von Evans.
From your writer's viewpoint, so much of what Grayson Waller said last night has plenty of truth to it, as the NXT men's division has been struggling this year. While the women's division has been on a tear, headed up by the ascension of Kendal Grey to the NXT Women's Title, the men's division hasn't fully recovered from losing notable players like Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je'Von Evans, Ricky Saints, and Ethan Page. That said, the recent arrival of former two-time TNA World Champion Cruz Montana should be a welcome shot in the arm for the division, as should the return of a Grayson Waller who's determined to make his mark in the main event picture.
