Taking place from Minneapolis' U.S. Bank Stadium this weekend, WWE SummerSlam has a stacked 12-match line-up across its two days.
On headlining duties for Night 1, it's WWE Champion CM Punk defending that prize against long-time pal Cody Rhodes. With animosities between these two starting to simmer away nicely, this will mark only the third-ever singles match between Punk and Rhodes, and their first one-on-one contest since a 2008 episode of Raw - all as fans speculate whether one of the two will walk out of SummerSlam as an outright villain.
In the Night 2 main event, it's the top men of Raw colliding when former Shield buddies Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins clash for the OTC's World Heavyweight Championship. With plenty of history between these two, and with Rollins so often having Roman's number in their previous meetings, anticipation is high as to if and how Reigns will get the better of the Visionary.
Where WWE's women's roster is concerned, Liv Morgan puts her Women's World Championship on the line on Night 1 against the woman she lost to in this year's Queen of the Ring tournament, IYO SKY. Given that Liv hasn't made a single televised defence of that title since winning it at WrestleMania 42, it's been a somewhat strange run for her atop the Raw ranks. For IYO, she's looking to reclaim the title that was famously taken from her at last year's Evolution PLE, where Naomi cashed in her Money in the Bank briefcase.
With WWE Women's Champion Rhea Ripley currently recovering from a meniscus tear, WWE has decided to go with an Interim Women's Champ rather than strip the Eradicator of that title. And so, SummerSlam Night 2 has Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tifanny Stratton, Chelsea Green, and Lash Legend or Giulia going to war in a five-woman ladder match to crown the Interim WWE Women's Champion, with the temporary title holder then waiting for Rhea as and when she's cleared to return.
Sticking with WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2 and title matches, hometown hero Chad Gable is looking to win his first piece of singles gold as his redemption arc continues with a potential show-stealer against Intercontinental Champion Penta, while Trick Williams defends his United States Title against the recently returned Baron Corbin. Rounding out Night 2, Sami Zayn and Finn Balor could likewise steal the show as they go to battle to crown the number one contender for the WWE Championship, and the long-running saga between Danhausen and the Judgment Day should hopefully come to a head as the Very Nice, Very Evil star faces Dominik Mysterio in a Human Monies on a Pole match, bro.
To take a look at the rest of SummerSlam Night 1, we have the small matter of Oba Femi and Brock Lesnar going to war in Hell in a Cell, complete with rumours that this really could be it for the career of Lesnar following that WrestleMania 42 fakeout. There are also a couple of six-person bouts on Night 1, as Fatal Influence face the Bella Twins and Paige, and LA Knight teams with Solo Sikoa and Royce Keys to face the Usos and Jacob Fatu. Rounding out the card, there's one of the better built SummerSlam matches in recent memory, as former two-time NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion and one-time TNA World Champion Nick Aldis laces up his boots for the first time in a WWE ring, leaving his SmackDown General Manager duties behind as he faces the daunting presence of the Ring General, Gunther.
