HUGE Backstage Update On Liv Morgan's WWE Future (WWE News)
The latest on when WWE plans to bring Liv Morgan back post-injury layoff.
WWE's creative team has been put on high alert to start drumming up plans for Liv Morgan's return arc. PWInsider is reporting that Liv could be cleared to launch a comeback by the start of 2026. Previously, that seemed to be a very "optimistic" outlook following Morgan's sickening shoulder injury suffered during a match vs. Kairi Sane on the 16 June episode of Raw.
That injury halted the match less than 3 minutes in, and Liv was visibly in a lot of pain as she was tended to by medics and other WWE officials. Since then, she's barely been mentioned on television, but that'll all change soon as Triple H's writers start spitballing ideas for the new year.
The 2026 Royal Rumble is being circled as a possible date for Morgan to make a splash once again. That PLE happens in Saudi Arabia on 31 January, so there's still plenty of time for Liv to heal up, rehab her shoulder, start doing some in-ring training to shake off ring rust and get herself ready.
If Morgan does return at the Rumble as a surprise, then she'd have to be considered an immediate favourite for the 30-woman match. Liv is considered to be one of the most popular stars on the WWE roster over in Saudi too, which would put her in a strong position to be pencilled in as a realistic Rumble winner.
Missing the second half of 2025 has sucked for the Judgment Day member, but she'll feel fresh once she does come back.
WWE Could Push Liv's Return Date Forward
WWE will be excited about the prospect of using Liv again. She was a featured part of TV right up until her injury, and there's still plenty of scope left for either continuing with Judgment Day or splitting the group completely - Dominik Mysterio has splintered off into an organic babyface role (he's being cheered by fans, at least!) since Morgan was forced off screens.
There's a chance, depending on how well her shoulder has healed up, that she could actually make a comeback before the Rumble in late-January. Neither Liv nor Hunter will want to take any chances with such a delicate injury though. The most important thing is Morgan's health, and that she's able to contribute properly in the new year.
Whilst true that anything could happen and she could return in a shock moment before the end of 2025, the Rumble does seem to be a more realistic target.
