Dave Meltzer claims via Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is toying with the idea of adding a blockbuster match to this weekend's Clash In Paris PLE over in France. According to Dave, Triple H could add in Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton as a sixth main card outing - it'd join big bouts like John Cena vs. Logan Paul, Seth Rollins vs. CM Punk vs. LA Knight vs. Jey Uso, Roman Reigns vs. Bronson Reed, Becky Lynch vs. Nikki Bella and Sheamus vs. Rusev.

If Drew vs. Randy gets spliced in, then the expectant crowd set for Paris might lose their collective minds.

Orton hit McIntyre with a surprise RKO on the 22 August episode of SmackDown. The Scot was inside the ring cutting a promo on reigning WWE Champ Cody Rhodes when Randy flew in out of nowhere (his trademark) and hit the finisher. That was always going to result in a match between the pair - WWE has been building it on TV and PLE generally anyway.

At SummerSlam, McIntyre teamed with Logan Paul to take on Randy and Jelly Roll. The celeb-infused bout was well received, for the most part, and it looks like Jelly could do some more in-ring work with the company in the future. Of course, it was down to established veterans like Drew and Orton to carry most of the workload, and they did that with aplomb.

Soon, they'll work their latest one on one effort, and it could happen as soon as Sunday's supershow in France.

McIntyre Challenging Cody Rhodes Is On Ice

Meltzer also reported that a proposed Drew vs. Randy match will happen before McIntyre challenges Cody for the WWE Title. There had been rumours about that title bout happening at Clash, but it looks like Trips will keep it back for a follow up show like brand new PLE Wrestlepalooza on 20 September, or maybe even Crown Jewel on 11 October.

WWE will be heading to Australia for the latter, and they'll be looking to stack the show full of major stars to give Perth a treat. Then, all eyes will turn to build towards Survivor Series in late-November.

That's looking ahead. In the short term, Drew has some massive matches coming up. There will be significant interest in the scrap with Orton, and his WWE Title challenge carries credible threat following a fabulous angle on the 8 August SmackDown. There, McIntyre blasted Rhodes with a Claymore Kick to the head that sent Cody crashing through the front of the announce desk.

So, first up: Drew vs. Randy. Then, WWE can get busy on Drew vs. Cody.
