As well as CM Punk becoming the World Heavyweight Champion, last night's WWE Saturday Night's Main Event also saw Jade Cargill win the WWE Women's Championship.

Whereas Punk toppled Jey Uso in a 20-minute back-and-forth bout, it was a lot more straightforward for Jade. In a match that lasted barely five minutes, Cargill targetted the 'injured' leg of Tiffany Stratton, hit a couple of powerbombs, then put Tiffy away with the Jaded to take home the gold. That brings Stratton's WWE Women's Title reign to a halt at 302 days.

For Jade Cargill, this marks a first slice of singles WWE gold for the former AEW TBS Champion. It also nicely positions her for an eventual match against Bianca Belair down the line, as and when the E.S.T. is cleared to return from a broken finger injury she suffered back at WrestleMania 41.

In addition to Jade and Punk's big wins, the rest of the Saturday Night's Main Event card had Cody Rhodes retaining his WWE Title against Drew McIntyre, and Dominik Mysterio managed to keep hold of his Intercontinental Championship in a triple threat against Penta and Rusev.

That Rhodes vs. McIntyre match ended somewhat controversially, with the American Nightmare hitting Drew with a DDT onto the WWE Championship, before then landing a Cross Rhodes for the 1-2-3. Similarly, as per the norm, Dirty Dom utilised certain underhanded methods in his win, firstly ringing the ring bell when Rusev had Penta locked in the Accolade, and then taking advantage of Penta accidentally hitting Rusev with the ring bell hammer; throwing Penta into the ring post, then pinning Rusev after a frog splash.

In other SNME news, last night also saw it announced that the 10 November episode of WWE Raw will see the start of a 16-man tournament to crown John Cena's final ever opponent. Stars from Raw, SmackDown, and NXT will feature in that tournament, with it also teased that stars from outside WWE may be part of that 16-man group.
