Following recent reports that WWE has not offered Edge a contract extension amidst rumours of the Rated-R Superstar being AEW-bound, there's now a further update on this situation.

Last Friday saw Edge wrestle a first-time-ever match against Sheamus in Toronto, with the WWE Hall of Famer noting how that was the final match of his current WWE contract and will likely be the last time he'll wrestle in his home province.

While some have speculated that the Ultimate Opportunist may make a shock appearance at AEW All In this weekend, that seems unlikely given how Adam Copeland is said to be officially contracted to WWE until the end of September. Of course, that doesn't rule out the veteran from becoming #AllElite once that WWE deal expires.

Adding more fuel to the fire of Edge heading to AEW, a recent PWTorch report claimed that the 11-time World Champion presented WWE with the terms required for him to pen a new contract with the market leader, but that WWE declined to meet these terms. That story noted how some within WWE were under the impression that the Canadian would indeed be heading to AEW.

Addressing these rumours, Edge himself took to Twitter today, where he clarified that he actually has been offered an extension by WWE, and that the extension is waiting in his inbox to be signed and returned.

Where the hold up on this is, is the 49-year-old is unsure on what to do next and whether or not he could top the phenomenal moment he shared with those in Toronto last week.

12 years ago, Adam Copeland was forced to hang up his boots due to medical advice. Here in 2023, the talent now has the chance to choose how and where his pro wrestling career finally comes to an end.
