Lil' Yachty Wants Wrestling Fans To Stop Having Opinions (WWE News)
Lil Yachty tells wrestling fans to stop being so uptight.
Having made his in-ring debut at WWE Sunday Night's Main Event earlier this month, Lil Yachty has now given his first interview as a professional wrestler.
As is so often the case, Yachty sat down with the ever-great Chris Van Vliet for the latest episode of Insight with Chris Van Vliet, where he detailed his pro wrestling fandom, how he'd always wanted to take a clothesline, how much a clothesline from Baron Corbin at SNME hurt, having plenty more matches in the tank, and a whole, whole lot more.
At one point, the topic of the Gingerbread Man - part of Lil Yachty and Trick Williams' rivalry with Sami Zayn - came up, and in particular the reaction to the Gingerbread Man and the character's funeral. To that, Yachty believes wrestling fans should stop being so uptight and embrace the entertainment aspect of the wrestling business.
When asked about that funeral, the rapper-turned-wrestler said:
"It was so silly. Again, people forget it's entertainment, man, and it's supposed to be funny. It's supposed to be fun, and wrestling is, like, entertainment and fun. Have fun, man. Don't be so uptight. People are so, like, sometimes I'll be thinking, like, 'Damn, you just want a card full of five-star matches. Have fun!'"
In an interview spanning nearly 90 minutes, Lil Yachty would also call some wrestling fans "mean as f**k" in how hard it is to perform for them and to get the desired reaction.
As for what the WWE landscape looks like for Yachty right now, his and Trick Williams' issues with Baron Corbin continued on last week's SmackDown, with the Nomad attacking the two, which followed in the footsteps of Trick Willy regaining the United States Championship from Corbin at Sunday Night's Main Event.
