Multi-Time AEW Champion's Contract Expiring SOON (AEW News)
Anthony Bowens' AEW deal is due to expire next month.
Despite wrestling at All In last weekend, the clock is currently ticking on Anthony Bowens' time with AEW.
Per Fightful Select, Bowens' existing AEW contract is due to expire on October 1st. It's not known whether talks have opened yet about the talent remaining with AEW, but no new deal has been agreed upon as of this writing.
This comes on the heels of last month's news that Bowens' old Acclaimed buddy Max Caster was set to see his AEW contract expire on October 1st, too. Together, Anthony and Platinum Max won the AEW Tag Team Championships and likewise won the AEW Trios Championships with Billy Gunn. However, after the two went their separate ways, then reformed, then went their separate ways again earlier this year, Bowens nowadays finds himself as part of the Opps alongside Samoa Joe, Katsuyori Shibata, HOOK, and Action Andretti.
For Anthony Bowens, he's been a fairly regular part of AEW programming this year, wrestling 12 matches for the company in 2026 so far, the most recent being an eight-man tag match on the All In pre-show. In the case of Max Caster, however, he's not wrestled for AEW at all in 2026, though he has been fairly active on the independent scene, last competing for Beyond Wrestling in Rhode Island in July.
Whether Bowens and/or Caster remain with AEW past October remains to be seen, though this Fightful report did note that WWE had originally planned to sign Bowens prior to him landing in AEW.
