New AEW Revolution 2021 Date Confirmed - First SUNDAY PPV
AEW's next PPV, Revolution, has been moved from February to March.
All Elite Wrestling's next pay-per-view, Revolution, has been moved to Sunday 7 March.
Dave Meltzer confirmed this on Wrestling Observer Radio over the weekend. AEW is yet to make it official, though a formal announcement should be forthcoming. This comes just a few days after Meltzer had reported the pay-per-view's shift in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, citing 6 or 7 March as a potential date, though it looks like it has now been nailed down.
Revolution 2021 will likely go down in Daily's Place in Jacksonville, following last week's news that AEW plans on keeping production in its home city for the foreseeable future.
Meltzer notes that 6 March was indeed considered for the new date, but AEW decided against going head-to-head with that night's UFC show, which features three championship fights. The pay-per-view was moved from its original 27 February date in order to avoid a clash with the next Canelo Alvarez boxing match.
This will be the first Sunday PPV in AEW history, with the company typically hosting its biggest shows on Saturday nights.
Sting's in-ring comeback is the only thing to be officially announced for Revolution 2021, as he teams with Darby Allin to face Team Taz's Rick Starks and Brian Cage in a Street Fight. It is believed that more bouts will be confirmed after Beach Break on 3 February.
