New Tag Team Champions Crowned In Raw Main Event (WWE News)
WWE crowned new Women's Tag Champs and set up women's WarGames on Raw.
Kabuki Warriors duo Asuka and Kairi Sane became the brand new Women's Tag-Team Champions during an action packed main event on Monday's episode of WWE Raw. Their win ends Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair's own reign as champs at 100 days - they'd won the titles from Judgment Day's Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez back at SummerSlam in early August.
Newly formed SmackDown pair Nia Jax and Lash Legend ran in to force the title change. They pulled Sane out of Charlotte's Figure Eight submission, then hammered Bliss outside the ring. That left Flair ripe for Kairi's elbow drop. Post-match, the heels continued beating down on the babyfaces before IYO SKY attempted to make a save.
That proved futile (the heels still had the numbers advantage), so Rhea Ripley marched out to even the odds and announced that everyone on the scene would compete in the women's WarGames match at Survivor Series on 29 November. So, to clarify, that's: Sane, Asuka, Jax and Legend vs. Flair, Bliss, SKY and Ripley so far.
Each team will announce another member shortly.
This was Rhea's first appearance since suffering a broken nose during a WWE live event in Japan this past October. The Warriors have also just kicked off their third reign as Women's Tag Champs. They're a safe pair of hands for Triple H and this division, but there might be some disappointment over how short and uneventful Charlotte and Alexa's reign turned out to be.
It's likely that both will return to singles concerns post-Survivor Series later in the month.
