Last week's episode of SmackDown was a lacklustre lead in to the latest Saturday Night's Main Event, but not every TV show is gonna be a winner...right? Right, but Triple H and his creative team have to be real careful about things, because their decision making and general booking style is leaving a lot to be desired at the moment.

On Friday, their latest stab at the blue brand went middle of the road. Some of it was good, but some of it was downright horrible. New champions were crowned, certain wrestlers found out exactly where they stand in Hunter's pecking order, storyline suspensions were handed out, and there was even a main roster re-debut for someone who looks likely to stick around this time.

Something felt off throughout the show though. It's clear that WWE is struggling to hit the high notes it did towards the start of Triple H's tenure in charge of the product. They've still got a roster jam packed full of guys and girls who can put on enough good matches to keep things interesting, but far too many of the stories (especially on the blue side) feel half baked and underwhelming.

Survivor Series and the usual WarGames stuff is on the horizon too, but the writing team seem woefully underprepared for it. Seriously, if they even think about putting Solo Sikoa's MFT gang in the double cage against Sami Zayn, Motor City Machine Guns, Shinsuke Nakamura and Rey Fenix, then they deserve the apathy that kind of bout would get from fans.

Here's all the good and bad from a show that takes 1 step forwards then 5 back.
