Paul Heyman Says The Rock Has Asked Him For WWE Match With Roman Reigns
Per Paul Heyman, top WWE stars are lining up for matches with The Head of the Table...
Paul Heyman, that all-time great pro wrestling worker, has claimed that The Rock has contacted him about a potential WWE match with Roman Reigns.
Heyman did so in a new interview with GiveMeSport, claiming that several top stars were lining up for matches with the Universal Champion, including big-name celebrities:-
“If I could show you one day’s worth of text messages, emails and calls that come into my phone from some of the biggest superstars in sports and entertainment on this planet, it would blow your mind. Crossover celebrities in their prime would love to step into a WrestleMania ring with Roman Reigns. It’s not just Dwayne Johnson. The Rock is just one of many. Top stars in many sports are yearning for the publicity, the notoriety, fame, legacy and money of main eventing WrestleMania with Roman Reigns."
Continuing, Paul E. put his managerial client over huge, calling Roman "the be-all and end-all" in WWE, and "the attraction for WrestleMania." He's clearly working here, though it isn't inconceivable that himself, Rock, and Reigns have at least spoken about the clash.
WrestleMania 37 will see Reigns defend the Universal Championship against Edge, provided he can get past Daniel Bryan at Fastlane this weekend.
Reigns vs. The Rock remains the biggest money match WWE can realistically put together over the next few years. It is complicated by Rocky's successful Hollywood career (and the immeasurable amount of red tape this brings), but the legend is reportedly open to the idea, keeping the possibility open.
Rock last wrestled at WrestleMania 32, where he defeated Erick Rowan in six seconds.
