New Details On The Rock Vs. Roman Reigns At WrestleMania

Who REALLY wants Reigns vs. Rock to happen - and the one sticking.

This week's Wrestling Observer Newsletter contains some interesting notes on a potential WrestleMania match between The Rock and Roman Reigns.

In the writeup, Dave Meltzer states that Rock loves the idea of putting his cousin over before a sold-out WrestleMania crowd. Unfortunately, 'The Great One' is hindered by insurance issues relating to his work away from professional wrestling, particularly as he currently has several different projects in the pipeline. This has been a stumbling block for potential wrestling returns on the past and must be overcome if he is to meet Reigns at a 'Showcase of the Immortals.'

Paul Heyman recently told WWE on FOX's Ryan Satin that it was Rocky who brought the idea up in the first place:-

This bought remains one of the most hotly-anticipated that WWE could feasibly put together, though Rock's Hollywood career means there'd be a lot of red tape to cut first, like the aforementioned insurance issues. Regardless, Rocky would make the perfect end of level boss for Roman's ongoing 'Tribal Chief' storyline, slotting in as a figurehead for the Samoan wrestling dynasty.

Reigns is currently booked to face another of his cousins, Jey Uso, at Hell In A Cell 2020.
