Ranking Every WWE Championship Reign Of The 2020s So Far

12. Brock Lesnar (January 2022)

Remember when Bobby Lashley beat Brock Lesnar at the Royal Rumble? Well, it turns out that reign had only started four weeks earlier. At Day 1, which was WWE's attempt to ruin New Year's Eve for all of their workers, The Beast was meant to take on Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. As it turns out, the OTC announced he had COVID-19 mere hours before the show was meant to start.

Instead of telling Lesnar to stay at home, which he definitely would have preferred, WWE chucked him into the planned fatal four-way for the WWE Championship instead.

The former UFC fighter got his hands on the top prize for the sixth time in his career, defeating Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, Bobby Lashley, Seth Rollins, and the man he pinned, Big E. With this result, WWE outlined their plan for the upcoming WrestleMania, but we'll get to that in a minute.

This 28-day reign didn't have the screwy opening that Lashley's did, but they were both short and ultimately only happened to serve a higher purpose.
