Ranking Every WWE Championship Reign Of The 2020s So Far
9. Drew McIntyre (January-March 2026)
At the time of writing, Drew McIntyre's third go-around with the WWE Championship is the most recent complete reign in the title's history.
Drew won it in a match that nobody expected him to win, as he triumphed over Cody Rhodes in a Three Stages of Hell match on the January 9th, 2026 edition of SmackDown, which took place in Berlin, Germany.
After his unlikely victory, the Scottish Psychopath managed just one successful title defence, putting the belt on the line against Sami Zayn at the Royal Rumble in a match that received significant attention as it took place in Saudi Arabia.
McIntyre's title reign was like an ice sculpture; beautiful, but doomed not to last. Everybody knew that Cody was getting the belt back ahead of WrestleMania 42 and, sure enough, that's exactly what happened. Rhodes regained the strap on SmackDown, ending his rival's time at the top after 56 days. We all know that McIntyre can do better with the world title, but this time around, he wasn't given the chance to prove it.
