28. Chris Jericho vs Triple H (WrestleMania 18)

Chris Jericho had done so brilliantly in his time in WWE. Famously being the first man to unify the WCW and WWE championships by beating The Rock and 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin on the same night, he deserved so much better than the creative he was served on the run-up to his only time headlining WrestleMania at WrestleMania 18.

WrestleMania 18 is best known for the legendary match between 'Hollywood' Hulk Hogan and The Rock, and the crowd giving one of the most electrifying reactions to any match in history. This would be hard enough for Jericho and his dance partner to overcome, but the storyline going in to the match was rotten. It had almost nothing to do with Y2J, as all focus was shifted to Triple H and Stephanie McMahon's marriage.

A terrible story involving a bogus pregnancy led to Triple H cutting ties with his heel wife, and Stephanie to promptly and implausibly become Jericho's business partner to help him overcome 'The Game' at WrestleMania. This ignored the incredible feud Stephanie and Jericho had always enjoyed. It was stupid and didn't work for anybody. Triple H would capture the WWE Undisputed Championship after hitting the Pedigree on both Stephanie and Jericho, and it remains a crying shame that creative couldn't come up with a non-McMahon centric story to tell for these two all-time great superstars during their prime years.
