Ranking Every WWE WrestleMania Main Event - From Worst To Best
2. The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels (WrestleMania 26)
In terms of pure in-ring action, Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker put on two of the best matches ever, one year after another, at WrestleMania. Their absolute clinic might not have headlined WrestleMania 25, but it certainly stole the show. The decision to run it back a year later as the main event of WrestleMania 26 was a no-brainer, and they managed to add to their classic from the year.
The Undertaker emerged victorious from their war at WrestleMania 25, and it had eaten Michaels alive that he couldn't break 'Taker's WrestleMania streak. He begged and demanded a rematch from 'The Deadman' who turned him down at every opportunity. Determined to not be denied, Michaels cost 'The Phenom' a shot at the WWE Championship over and over again for months. Eventually, The Undertaker granted Michaels his wish; No Disqualifications, The Streak vs Michaels's Career in the main event of WrestleMania 26.
The match was overflowing with drama and emotion, as every moment felt monumental. Michaels descended from the heavens for his entrance, Taker stalked his way through darkness to greet him in the ring. In the dying throes of the match, HBK hit The Undertaker with Sweet Chin Music. When 'Taker kicked out, Michaels writhed and wriggled around the floor with heartbreaking frustration. Michaels then kicked out of The Tombstone, and Taker could not believe his eyes. As HBK rose to his feet, he slapped Taker in the face, demanding to be laid to rest in something straight out of a Texas Western. Taker obliged, and Michaels WrestleMania story was over.
