Real Reason WWE Moved Money In The Bank 2021
Why WWE Money In The Bank 2021 is going down in July, not June.
WWE's recent decision to reconfigure its pay-per-view schedule was at least partly motivated by a desire to have Money in the Bank 2021 play out before a live crowd.
This is according to Sports Illustrated's Justin Barrasso, whose sources state that WWE believes Hell in a Cell is better suited to the ThunderDome, while Money in the Bank is better with an audience, hence the changes.
News that WWE had switched its usual calendar up by switching Hell in a Cell from October to June and Money in the Bank from June to July broke last weekend. HIAC goes down on 20 June, and is WWE's next pay-per-view, while MITB is booked in for 18 July.
Barrasso corroborates that consistently being able to run shows throughout the ongoing global health crisis has built a sense of optimism within WWE. The company has no plans to return to the ThunderDome after transitioning back towards a more regular road schedule, with weekly touring set to commence in the build to SummerSlam, which will be held in Nevada.
As previously reported, WWE may look at bringing live crowds back from 16 July.
