New Details On WWE Bringing Live Events Back - Extreme Rules 2021 To Have Fans?
WWE to follow in AEW's footsteps by returning to a regular live event schedule?
WWE plans on holding ticketed live events in mid-July.
This is according to the Mat Men Podcast's Andrew Zarian, who claims that the company plans on bringing fans back on 16 July. Main roster shows are expected to return to ticketed events from this date, with that night's episode of SmackDown potentially featuring a live audience, though its location hasn't been confirmed.
Per Zarian's source, fans will be in attendance until 19 July. There's no word on whether this is a one-off stretch or if it represents a full-on return to a more regular touring schedule and style of presentation.
The dates mentioned above would theoretically cover the 16 July SmackDown, Extreme Rules 2021 pay-per-view on 18 July, and the 19 July episode of Raw. WWE is yet to make any kind of formal announcement on these shows, though the company's ThunderDome residency in Tampa, Florida is expected to last through July.
All Elite Wrestling recently confirmed that it would be returning to the road in July, announcing a trio of television tapings on the 7th, 14th, and 21st. The 30 May Double or Nothing pay-per-view will also be a full-capacity event.
