Big WWE PPV Reshuffle: Hell In A Cell & Money In The Bank MOVED
MITB and HIAC switch months as WWE reconfigures its pay-per-view calendar.
WWE has made significant changes to its annual pay-per-view calendar, with Hell in a Cell 2021 and Money in the Bank 2021 both switching months.
The promotion announced during last night's WrestleMania Backlash show that Hell in a Cell will go down on Sunday 20 June. This is a considerable break from the norm, as Hell in a Cell typically takes place in October.
What of WWE's usual June pay-per-view, Money in the Bank? It will reportedly take place on Sunday 18 July. The Mat Men Pro Wrestling Podcast's Andrew Zarian claimed as much last night, stating that he has heard the event will have a live, ticketed audience.
The same source reported last week that WWE planned on bringing live fans back from 16 July until 19 July. It was noted at the time that this could cover the Extreme Rules pay-per-view, which usually goes down in July, though Money in the Bank has now taken that month's supercard slot.
Fightful Select had previously reported that Vince McMahon wanted to change the company's usual pay-per-view schedule. There's currently no word on what other changes could be coming to the calendar, though Extreme Rules will need a new month (if it's still on the docket).
