The wrestling world was rocked by recent news that WWE had released R-Truth from his contract. That was quickly followed by word that fellow veteran Carlito is on the way out too once his current contract expires, and recent reports suggest it was none other than Triple H himself who made the call to cut both loose from their deals.

Now, via Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez claims that the bad news might keep on coming.

Alvarez said: "I’ve been told that there might be other WWE departures as well, so this might not be the end". That'll come as a major bummer to those hoping that the pain would stop here and the company wouldn't release anymore talent in the near future.

Of course, previously released talent like Cora Jade, Gigi Dolin, Eddy Thorpe, Riley Osborne, Oro Mensah, Jackara Jackson, Javier Bernal, Dani Palmer, and the Gallus trio of Joe Coffey, Mark Coffey, and Wolfgang are all now officially free agents; this means they're free to work for AEW, TNA (which is obviously under WWE's banner now), New Japan or on the independent scene.

Truth's good pal The Miz has also been in the headlines after deleting numerous WWE-related references on his social media accounts. That's had fans speculating on his future with the market leader as well. Alvarez addressed that by calling it "a weird move to [delete references] if you're not being released", and added that "where there's smoke, there's fire" in regards to Miz.

Fans Have Been Chanting For R-Truth On WWE TV

WWE fans have taken R-Truth's departure particularly hard.

Booming, "WE WANT TRUTH" chants could be heard throughout the show during Monday's episode of WWE flagship show Raw, and that continued onto NXT programming. It's expected that the same thing will happen on Friday's edition of SmackDown, then again at Money In The Bank on Saturday night.

Many predict that the chants will heighten further once John Cena hits the ring for his tag-team bout alongside Logan Paul vs. Cody Rhodes and Jey Uso on the PLE.

Fan reaction towards Truth's exit has been largely negative, but other fans have been chiming in to point out hypocrisy within the social community. A fair number of accounts have been caught wailing over Truth's departure this week when they were criticising Triple H for booking him opposite Cena beforehand.

Now, attention turns to what The Miz's WWE future holds. He's been part of the furniture for over 20 years now, so it'd be hard to imagine the company's weekly product without him. Alvarez appears to believe that's a possibility.
