The Miz Unfollows & Deletes All Mentions Of WWE From Social Media Profiles (WWE News)
Worked shoot, huff or something more? The Miz has every WWE fan talking.
The Miz has WWE fans talking in the wake of recent news that Triple H made the call to release his good friend R-Truth and fellow company veteran Carlito from the active roster. Fans noticed that the 2-time WWE Champion and decorated lifer unfollowed the promotion's social media accounts and appeared to delete all mention of WWE on his own profiles.
Naturally, that piqued interest.
Fightful Select has been on the case. WWE sources tell them that Miz hasn't "been informed of his contract not being renewed". It's important to point out that this is how the company handled things with Truth and Carlito - word spread that WWE won't be extending their current deals once they lapse.
Miz is an interesting one though. There's a good chance he's taken the news about Truth (specifically) rather hard. They've been great friends behind the curtain for a long time now, and the pair even enjoyed numerous tag title reigns together as 'Awesome Truth'.
WWE has distanced the duo since The Miz turned heel on Truth during the 30 September 2024 episode of Raw. Since then, he's been tied to rising star Carmelo Hayes over on SmackDown.
The Miz Has Been With WWE Since 2004
WWE fans first saw The Miz during the fourth season of old faux-reality show Tough Enough in 2004. He had a background in reality TV before launching his pro wrestling dreams, so Mike Mizanin stood out. His arrogant personality (based on The Rock) didn't ensure Miz won the competition, but he did catch the eye of management backstage.
They offered him a developmental deal and a spot on the Deep South Wrestling and Ohio Valley Wrestling rosters. Miz excelled enough there to merit a call up in March 2006. Since then, he's managed to defy all the odds by battling against locker room bullying to become a made man in WWE.
Miz is a 2-time WWE Champ, 8-time Intercontinental Champion, 2-time United States Champ, 9-time Tag-Team Champion and more. He started to gain traction as a villain in 2009, which eventually led to winning Money In The Bank the following year then cashing it in to become new WWE Champion in November 2010.
He'd then go on to headline WrestleMania XXVII opposite John Cena.
Miz's recent social media behaviour has fans wondering if he'll be the next to depart. Or, is this merely a huff because one of his pals has been let go without warning? Nobody really has any answers right now, but at least Fightful made moves to find out what was going on with the guy contractually.
Stay tuned for further updates when they become available.
