Seth Rollins Getting New "Mainstream" Entrance Theme (WWE News)
A mainstream artist is working on new music for WWE's Seth Rollins.
Having undergone a character change in the aftermath of WrestleMania 41, it looks as if WWE's Seth Rollins will soon be getting a new entrance.
Per Cory Hayes of BodySlam.net, WWE is working with a "mainstream artist" to craft a new song for the five-time former World Champion. As of this writing, there's no word on who exactly this mainstream artist is, so we'll have to wait and see how this one develops.
Of course, Seth Rollins joined forces with Paul Heyman in the Night 1 main event of 'Mania 41, getting the better of both CM Punk and Roman Reigns in the process. Post-WrestleMania, the very next Raw saw Bron Breakker line up with Rollins and Heyman, and that burgeoning group has more recently had Bronson Reed added to its ranks.
On that front, this same report notes that the currently unnamed Rollins, Heyman, Breakker, and Reed faction is expected to be given an official name "soon". Whether more people wind up added to the mix in the coming weeks and months, that remains to be seen.
Opinion
If WWE wants Seth Rollins and Co. to be treated as a genuine heel act, a change of music is certainly one way to assist in that.
The actions of this new faction are absolutely those of heels, but those same heels are often sang to the ring and serenaded as they cut promos, such is the reaction that fans have to Rollins' current Def Rebel-produced 'The Vision' theme song.
Added to that, it's hard not to cheer on, say, Bron Breakker as he delivers his incredible Spear to the babyfaces of the day, or when Bronson Reed takes flight with his similarly impressive Tsunami Splash. Such acts, combined with the fan participation of Seth's existing theme, mean this group has found it hard to get the typical reaction you'd want from a heel stable.
Will a switch-up of music completely change this? Not entirely, but it's certainly a start if WWE wants the reaction to the faction to match that of what a top heel group should be receiving. Removing the sing-along nature of Rollins' music can't do any harm in that regard. Then again, it depends on what The Vision is replaced by...
