"They gave up on me" - Shotzi Shoots HARD On WWE Release (WWE News)
Released in May, ex-WWE star Shotzi thinks Triple H just gave up on her.
Former WWE star Shotzi Blackheart has told Saraya's 'Rulebreakers' show that she feels like the company "gave up on [her]". The former NXT Women's Tag-Team Champion (alongside Ember Moon/Athena) told of her disappointment once she realised that staunch supporter Triple H had finally put a red pen through her name.
Shotzi was released this past May, and has since launched headfirst into a feud opposite Matt Cardona on the independent scene for GCW. She's currently on the shelf rehabbing a broken arm, and described the rivalry as "so much fun". On the podcast, Blackheart pointed out that she "never really got a good feud at WWE".
At best, she was a peripheral figure in the women's division on SmackDown after being promoted to the main roster in 2021. Shotzi did try to shake things up by changing her look at one point, but nothing seemed to grab attention behind the scenes to the extent that she was pushed relentlessly.
That just wasn't in the cards for Blackheart. Literally.
Shotzi spent close to a year on the bench with a nasty ACL tear, but she was excited to get going again. That's when Blackheart received news that WWE would be cutting her loose. She wasn't too shocked having been off TV for so long, but the surprising aspect was a lack of support from Hunter. That isn't something Shotzi saw coming - she'd always had an excellent relationship with 'The Game' stretching back to her time on NXT.
Looking back, she wishes she'd been handed a bigger chance to make a splash on the main roster.
