PWInsider Elite is reporting that Chad Gable is expected to resume training again at the WWE Performance Center within the next week or so. However, it remains unclear at time of writing whether or not Gable will reappear on episodes of Raw and SmackDown immediately or follow some sort of phased comeback plan.

The celebrated wrestling machine has posted footage of himself working hard in the gym (via Instagram) ahead of his return from a bad shoulder injury. That happened this past June, and it forced Triple H to write the American Made leader off television whilst he rehabbed. Of course, Chad has been a big loss to Raw since the summer - many fans can't wait to see him back in the mix.

Gable reinforced his commitment to the WWE cause in the summer months of 2024. Back then, he rubbished rumours that he was set to leave the market leader, and outright said he loved the company. According to Chad, he'd only leave WWE if higher ups let his contract tick down and decided they no longer wanted him on the roster.

That's unlikely to happen, but his 2025 injury status has been a major bummer for everybody. The good news is that his injury hell is almost over. Gable will report to the PC to work off some ring rust and test out his shoulder when taking some bumps.

Will Gable Resume El Grande Americano Offshoot?

The question is: Will Chad once again grab the mask and go under the hood as El Grande Americano? WWE passed that gimmick off to Ludwig Kaiser once Gable was struck down by injury in June, and Kaiser has been doing a bang up job with the alter ego thing ever since. It would, however, be a tad strange if Chad wasn't booked to have any problems with that.

It was his alter ego first, after all.

El Grande Americano proved to be popular enough with fans that WWE began pushing it onto TV more frequently than Gable himself. The masked lucha wannabe gimmick even managed to bag a AAA Mega Championship match against then-champ El Hijo del Vikingo at one point.

It would be a bit of a surprise if Triple H just flat out ignored Gable's time as Americano. That'd be true whether Ludwig was playing the guise or not, but it's especially pressing that WWE acknowledge things when they've got a knock off version running around the place.
