William Regal Addresses Rumours Of His WWE Return
Is the Gentleman Villain getting to set to depart AEW and return to WWE?
With plentiful reports claiming that William Regal's is in the process of departing AEW to return to WWE, the Gentleman Villain himself addressed such talk over the weekend.
Speaking during a panel at Wales Comic Con on Sunday, the two-time Intercontinental Champion was outright asked whether he'd be interested in returning to WWE.
As Regal himself explained, he'd be open to returning to WWE at some point in the future. While that in itself can be seen as a somewhat open-ended answer, the Englishman would note how he's heard the recent rumblings of his potential AEW exit and WWE return, and how nobody has thus far correctly reported on the situation.
His Lordship would add how only a select few people truly know what lies ahead for William Regal, and that the rest of us will have to wait and see how things play out.
In a wide-covering 40-minute panel chat, other highlights included Regal being intrigued to see how the pressure of being AEW World Champion will impact MJF, plentiful praise for the recent work of Sami Zayn, and mentions of Sasha Banks and PAC when it comes to two of the performers whose development and progression he is particularly proud to have witnessed play out.
For those who may have missed it, last week's AEW Dynamite saw MJF lay out William Regal with a brass knuckle shot to the back of the head. The former Blackpool Combat Club man was then stretchered out of the arena, with some taking this as being AEW writing Regal off TV as part of his exit from the promotion.
