Wrestling's 10 Biggest Opportunities Of 2014

8. Cruiserweights / X-Division

The WWE hasn't had a cruiserweight division since 2008 - incredibly that means that it's been 5 years since the WWE has vanquished the Cruiserweight Championship. Since then no true cruiserweight has been relevant, and fans would probably struggle to even name a cruiserweight star other than Rey Mysterio, and even he might be a reach at that. The division has been non existent in the WWE because of one reason: Vince McMahon. McMahon doesn't think cruiserweights are top notch stars; he wants guys that are jacked up at 6'2, 225 lbs and Daniel Bryan and CM Punk are the only exceptions. Why not have a group of young, up-and-coming cruiserweights featured on WWE Superstars or Main Event? No one's watching those anyways but at least it'd give the young guys an opportunity to work in front of a camera from time to time. Now as far as TNA is concerned, this is the one area they outshine the WWE. With Austin Aries heading up the X-Division, TNA's cruiserweights have carved out a nice little niche for themselves. It's just good old fashion high-flying wrestling with some great action. The X-divison matches are some of the best in wrestling. WWE take note.
