Just when Cody Rhodes thought he was finished with The Bloodline...BACKLASH!

Post-WrestleMania lull or a night that'll go down in WWE history?

That's the question facing Backlash. The 2024 Draft has concluded, several new stars have joined the main roster ranks from NXT, and Cody Rhodes has replaced Roman Reigns as the champion poster boy in the promotion. Is Cody finished with The Bloodline though, or does Triple H have something else up his sleeve over in France?

All reports suggest Solo Sikoa's latest Bloodline brute won't debut so soon, but let's not rule it out. WWE might be diverting the media there so Rhodes' next big hurdle is a complete surprise. Before that, Cody has a surely-excellent match vs. AJ Styles in his sights - AJ has some old enemies of his own too. Look out for that.

Here's everything that must happen over in Lyon, including fresh matches being added to the card. A few are swirling around waiting to be announced there, but one stands tall as a must have for Backlash. Then, there's a massive title change that'll help explain recent Draft choices.

France will be loud for their first ever WWE PLE. Here's what they need to see!

10. WWE Adds An IC Triple Threat

Few would be mad if Chad Gable eventually pinned Sami Zayn to win the Intercontinental Title. After all, Sami's big moment was really beating GUNTHER at WrestleMania, and there's just something about that belt which screams: 'PUT ME ON A GOOD HEEL'. Gable is one hell of a worker too, so he'd be a credit to the traditional favourite.

That's the future, but how about Backlash? There, WWE could do a lot worse than following up on events from Raw by sticking Bronson Reed in between Sami and Chad. Yes, that'd probably give the game away and spoil any whiff of a possible title change (Gable is more likely to win one-on-one), but it'd be a fun watch nonetheless.

Reed getting salty that Alpha Academy's finest poked his nose into his business on Monday suggests a three-way is incoming. The other option would be Becky Lynch defending her Women's World Title vs. Liv Morgan in a singles or in another Triple Threat with Nia Jax involved.

The IC scenario would be this writer's pick.
