WWE Night Of Champions 2026: 8 Things That NEED To Happen

3. IYO SKY Wins Queen Of The Ring

Currently, there are no guarantees that Rhea Ripley will be able to overcome her knee injury in time to wrestle at SummerSlam. That'd be a big blow to WWE booking if not, but there is another path open to them and it's staring creative straight in the face: Have IYO SKY win Queen Of The Ring then challenge the woman she's defeated to earn that crown.

Being real, Liv Morgan would only be winning the tournament if Rhea was definitely going to recover in time for Minneapolis, It'd be a disaster for management if Liv won QOTR then didn't have anybody to work with at SummerSlam and they had to revert back to Morgan vs. IYO anyway.

Stephanie Vaquer will still be on writer's lips in creative meetings, but lord only knows what's happening with her recovery too. Without any guarantees, bosses will probably need to go with SKY winning the tourney, taking the crown, then announcing that she'd like to whip Liv all over again in Minnesota.

At least then Morgan will have something to sink her teeth into, which hasn't really been the case since she won the strap at WrestleMania in a fairly short, unsatisfying match vs. Vaquer. Liv has just sort of been bouncing around interjecting in other people's business due to that injury to Steph, and Rhea's own plight could well limit what's on offer to her for the next month and change.

Also, it's fair to say that IYO richly deserves to be crowned Queen Of The Ring. It'd be a fitting title for her.
