WWE SummerSlam 2023: 10 Things That Must Happen
Massive title changes and big time WWE returns should make SummerSlam 2023 special.
12 months ago, Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar were tipping rings, Logan Paul was a babyface, Pat McAfee was working matches on pay-per-view and Dominik Mysterio was still just Rey's annoyingly smiley kid. SummerSlam 2022 was a trip, one set against the backdrop of excitement due to Vince McMahon's resignation and Triple H's control.
Fast forward to 2023's event and Vince is back, Dominik is now a 'Dirty' ex-con, WWE has a brand new World Title to think about and... Roman is still riding high. Will that change this coming weekend in Detroit during Reigns' fiery "Tribal Combat" showdown with Jey Uso? It could, but it shouldn't.
Some titles do need to change hands though.
Major returns could be on the cards too, and WWE should probs think about reshuffling some plans revealed on Monday's 'go home' edition of Raw. Seriously, nobody really knows what the hell they're thinking by dropping one match from SummerSlam's line-up when there's an unwanted bout still waiting to stink up the PLE.

10. Ricochet Gets A Much-Needed Win
Let's face it, Logan Paul is definitely more valuable to WWE in 2023 than Ricochet. However, it's also true that the Prime-shilling ex-YouTuber can afford to take a few beatings and still stay over with fans as a heel. This comes down to who needs it more: LP or Ricochet.
The full-timer just shades it.
After all, where does Rico go from here if he stares at the lights in a match promoted as two athletic flyers locking horns mid-air? He'd be shot right out of the skies by the very people tasked with helping him get over as a meaningful ongoing concern. So, in short, Ricochet must win this round.
Giving the pair 15 solid minutes and telling them to go hell for leather sounds like fun, and both would embrace the challenge if WWE asked them to open SummerSlam. Ricochet winning would qualify as a minor surprise too, and it'd keep him relevant beyond the feud.
