10 Current Wrestlers Already BETTER Than Your Favourites

This could upset some people! Are these WWE and AEW stars already better than legends?!

OK, so it's safe to assume a lot of people clicked on this to scour the picks then make sure pitchforks are suitably pointy to give the writer hell. That's fair enough - you're entitled to your opinion, but here's a humble request before digging into everything here.

Take off the nostalgia specs.

Nostalgia is one of the most powerful sensations on the planet. It softens harder edges, heightens the good stuff, and takes everyone back to a time before Twitter/X came along to tell you that modern pro wrestling sucks and you're an idiot for daring to like both WWE and AEW at the same time (how dare you!).

Objectively, many current stars actually do things better than icons of the past though. That's the case being argued here. These men and women are either improving on templates set before them by cherished heroes, or are just outright superior as performers on the mic/in-ring.

The beautiful thing is that many will only get even better as time churns on too. So, put the fuzzy comfort of nostalgia to one side and let's give today's workforce some serious praise.

Have fun...

10. The Gunns (New Age Outlaws)

'Daddy Ass' is about to have a conniption fit!

Seriously though, history has been very kind to the New Age Outlaws as a tag-team. Individually? Not so much. Indeed, Billy Gunn and Road Dogg only came together in the first place because 1997 WWF had nothing else for them as singles. That Outlaws thing was one last roll of the dice.

By comparison, Austin and Colten Gunn are on fire. They're a team because they want to be one, and they've been lighting up AEW programming for a while now. It's been really great to see a young act like The Gunns have room to make mistakes, learn and come back stronger.

As brothers, they've got natural chemistry, and the pair have already enjoyed a reign as AEW Tag Team Champs. They've since joined Bullet Club Gold alongside Jay White and Juice Robinson too, so this is only the beginning of their upward curve as a duo.

Eventually, they'll surpass their father and his pal.
