4. Hell In A Cell Can’t Live Up To Hype

All Hell In A Cell matches in the modern era will be judged next to Drew McIntyre vs. CM Punk at Bad Blood in October 2024, and rightly so. That was a whistle stop tour of epic-ness that proved to be everything right about the once-feared gimmick match. WWE lost their way with HIAC once they turned it into an annual pay-per-view in 2009, and the complete lack of threat to the structure pre-2024 became a problem.

Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi will be hoping to keep up the good work Drew and Punk produced.

There's a lot working against them, being brutally honest. Firstly, this is Oba's first time in the Cell, and there are no guarantees that he's going to thrive. Second, this will mark Brock's first time in this match type since 2015's bout vs. The Undertaker. That's a long time, so let's hope he isn't too rusty and understands the kind of violence that needs to be on display here.

Thirdly, hype can be a real killer. These guys have already gone at it twice on PLE (WrestleMania 42 then Clash In Italy), so fans have already watched them lock horns. That familiarity could have a negative impact on proceedings in Minneapolis. Fourth, SummerSlam takes place in a cavernous venue, so the live atmosphere could be hindered solely by how far away most folks are from the action.

Watching on big screens doesn't carry the same vibe or elicit the same sorts of reactions. Sorry, but it doesn't.
