Danhausen’s WWE debut at Elimination Chamber was aptly compared to the Gobbledy Gooker’s first appearance, in that both were horribly measured and badly received by fans.
The difference was that Danhausen could easily brush that one night off with a great proper “debut” to show fans what he brings. And he did just that on Raw Monday night.
Danhausen introduced himself to “Cold Steve Austin” (Raw GM Adam Pearce) and proceeded to run though his list of demands now that he’s arrived: a blimp, a Hall of Fame induction (this year), a personal assistant, a personal cameraman, a Triple H pointing photo, and his face on all production trucks.
Oh, and his written list was soggy because it fell in the toilet. Pearce was understandably agitated, one of the few times his “I need a drink” lines actually rang true.
But it wasn’t all meaningless, lightweight stuff. Danhausen ran afoul of the Judgment Day – more specifically, Dominik Mysterio – when he eyed the Intercontinental Championship (more for its gold than for being a wrestling title). Dirty Dom threatened Danhausen, who in turn cursed Mysterio, just before his IC Title match against Penta.
More on that in a moment. But this was a proper showcase for Danhausen. It also showed that WWE might actually “get” him and allow him to do his thing. Good stuff.
