3. Balor Gets Unceremoniously Dumped
The Judgment Day has had its share of drama and internal strife for the past couple of years. The group has been teasing dissension for what seems like its entire existence, and yet it has persevered.
Monday brought the biggest shakeup to the group since Damian Priest and Rhea Ripley were kicked out of Judgment Day. And Dominik Mysterio was once again at the center of it.
Mysterio called out Finn Balor for costing him his Intercontinental Championship last week when he prevented JD McDonagh from interfering. Balor let Dirty Dom whine for a bit before launching into a tough love speech, saying Mysterio needed to learn to fight his own battles at some point. Then, he invoked Dom’s dad, saying Rey Mysterio might be right, that he was a spoiled little pr**k.
Dominik shoved Finn, who paused and then hit a Pele Kick. Balor was about to nail a shotgun dropkick when McDonagh cut him off, triggering a four-on-one attack that saw Finn forcefully booted from the group. This almost certainly will lead to a WrestleMania 42 match between the two, which could be a really fun battle. It also shakes up a stable that has been chugging along for what seems like forever and finally pays off all the tension in the group.
Also, it’s just good to see Finn Balor break out from a role where he spent a lot of his time playing video games and conniving backstage. That isn’t to say he’s going to be a world champion, but Judgment Day Finn probably had run its course.
