10 Things You Didn't Know About Green Lantern

Like the time Daffy Duck joined the Corps...

The idea of an intergalactic police force should be the ultimate square. In fact, that€™s how Hal Jordan€™s Green Lantern was portrayed in his brief duo comic with Green Arrow, the uptight authoritarian foil to Oliver Queen€™s rudderless hippy. That€™s a very small view of the Green Lantern Corps, however, a group who€™ve been around for decades and earned themselves no shortage of fans. Equipped with magic rings which allow them to make basically anything they can imagine, the cosmically diverse Corps have been the stars of epic space sagas, intimate domestic dramas and big, bombastic superhero stories alike. Even if Hal Jordan isn€™t your speed, there€™s a good dozen other GLs to choose from (so long as they€™re not killed off). It€™s easy to see why the Green Lantern comics get such a dedicated fan base: they have all the sweeping drama of a space opera, the structure of police procedurals, colourful characters, and a power set that€™s all about creativity. That last point especially is going to inspire all sorts of fan-created art, fiction, all that business. And both the character and Corps do have a significant fan base. They know the ins and outs of the many crossovers, can count on hands and toes every time Sinestro has double-crossed them...but do they know about the cancelled video game, the Daffy Duck cameo? Here are ten things you didn€™t know about Green Lantern.
