10 Things You Didn't Know About The Fantastic Four

Little known facts about one of Marvel's flagship superhero teams.

The Fantastic Four are a superhero team known as Marvel's first family, having first appeared way back in 1961 in The Fantastic Four #1. Originally a team of astronauts, the quartet consist of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Johnny Storm and Ben Grimm, and they gained superpowers - depending on the source material - either when they were exposed to a cosmic storm whilst on a space mission or having been exposed to an alternate dimension. In a nutshell, Reed Richards gained the power of elasticity and became Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm gained the power of invisibility and became the Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm gained the power of a fiery form and became the Human Torch and Ben Grimm gained a rock-like hide and became the Thing (although a number of more esoteric powers accompanied the transformations as well). They have been a mainstay within the pages of Marvel comic books ever since their inception and have seen adaptations appear on the big screen, on the small screen, in video games and various other places and, with a new movie on the way this year, they're currently a major talking point (especially since the comic was cancelled, with rumours of Fox's ownership of the movie rights rumoured to be the reason - though this has been denied). This article will look into some lesser known facts about the powerful foursome and hopefully teach you some interesting things you weren't already aware of, so let's crack on! Assuming you aren€™t already a huge fan of the Fantastic Four or a walking source of Marvel knowledge, here are ten things you didn€™t know about the Fantastic Four...
