10 Zany Comic Book Movies That Would Send Fans Wild

... if they're ever actually made.

Whatever your thoughts are on superheroes, it doesn't look like comic book movies are leaving multiplexes anytime soon. Marvel will soon enter Phase 3 of their outlined release schedule and DC have recently announced plans to follow in their rival's footsteps, building their own cinematic universe. Now that Marvel have mined many of their flagship characters for movie releases, the company are turning to more obscure properties for inspiration. August 1st will herald the arrival of Marvel Studios' tenth cinematic release, Guardians of the Galaxy. Members of the team include a living tree and a gun-toting raccoon... who talks. Marvel may be taking a gamble here, but the hype is accelerating and really, this is only the beginning, as unusual heroes like Ant-Man and Dr Strange are also lined up to appear in their own films over the next few years. In order to keep comic book movies fresh for audiences raised on classic characters like Spider-Man and Batman, Marvel and DC need to take the plunge and adapt even more unusual properties who subvert the genre with their unique take on classic superhero tropes. Join me then as we take a look at 10 of the zaniest, wackiest and quite frankly most insane comic book adaptations that would be guaranteed to send fans wild... if they're ever actually made. You may not have heard of all these superheroes before, but you sure won't forget them after this! Could any of these heroes ever star in their own movie? Would mainstream audiences accept them? And have we missed out any more zany heroes who deserve a mention? Remember to let us know what you think of my choices in the comments section below!
