Batman: 10 Controversial Moments We’ll Never See On Screen

9. Bruce Wayne And Dick Grayson Sharing A Bed

bruce-dick-bed Arguably, this is by far the most unsettling thing that occurred in the Batman comics without a single character being harmed in the process. One page started it all; the 24th page of Batman #84 (June 1954) showed Bruce and Dick sharing the same bed as a father and son normally would. The problem was people weren't too comfortable seeing two men sharing a bed. Although they were both wearing pajamas, this scene sparked homophobic outcry and inspired several books and essays that argued the possibility of homosexual undertones within the Batman mythos throughout the years. If there's one thing the films are not going to show, it's a scene similar to this from the comics. Just face it - regardless of how innocent it may truly be, its risk factor is too high to show to the easily offended tastes of mainstream cinemagoers. God help us if they ever did something like that.
